UAL is one of the youngest and most dynamic universities in Spain. It was created in 1993. UAL provides the knowledge of its researchers and students, as well as its technology and other services, to improve the university-business relationship. UAL belongs to the top 500 universities in Europe. It consists of 13 faculties (140 research groups research). In addition to the research work of the faculties, UAL has 7 research institutes, owned or attached to the UAL, which are dedicated to research in areas as diverse as Agrifood, Global Change, Migrations, Solar Energy, Neuroscience, Big Data, Intensive Mediterranean Agrosystems or Production Systems in Plasticulture. UAL actively participates in initiatives related to land (soil) protection.
